The Irish Sailing Association needed a reliable phone system to cope with their call volume. Discover how SenSys Tech designed and installed their new 3CX system.





Irish Sailing

Irish Sailing is the national governing body for sailing, powerboating and windsurfing. Their aim is to develop, support and promote sailing, through their core values of Inspiration, Representation and Participation.

The Irish Sailing Association receives an average of 12,500 calls and face to face enquiries each year on all elements of sailing. They set the standards of sailing programmes from Junior to Olympic level. There are 105 Irish Sailing training centres running courses, certificates and qualifications.

The Irish Sailing Association had an outdated Panasonic phone system on traditional Eir ISDN lines. The system was starting to creak with multiple outages in the past year.

Owing to the volume of calls, enquires and the size of their network, there is a need for a strong communications infrastructure.

Irish Sailing required a futureproof and bulletproof solution that would enable them to communicate 24/7 with their Sailing members.




SenSys Technology recommended a 3CX phone system for the Irish Sailing Association. The Head Office receives a large majority of the calls, whilst also directing calls to the Sailing clubs in Ireland.  We upgraded all of the phones in the Head office to Yealink 3CX Provisioned phones, whilst hosting 3CX on their existing IT server meaning there was minimal hardware investment.

A  VoIP solution was designed specifically for the client and as a network provider, we liaised with their existing Broadband supplier and IT provider to deliver the optimum network for VoIP. We enabled QoS (Quality of Service) on their network which means that the voice quality is of crystal clear HD quality at all times.

SenSys Tech were able to provide further savings to the Irish Sailing Association as the 3CX Licence was free of charge. We installed 3CX on the existing server and provided wireless headsets for the team to manage the calls.

At the point of ‘sail’, Irish Sailing were delighted to hear that SenSys will provide a saving of 74% per month switching to VoIP with SenSys. This has provided a return on Investment for the Irish Sailing Association in less than six months!  In addition to the savings, 3CX enables the Irish Sailing Association to manage all calls, whilst enabling their members to opt for a scheduled call back, once an agent is available. They are now aware of all calls, including abandoned calls, and they receive regular reports of all inbound/outbound calls which is required as a governing body.
